Now our guide to restaurants in Villamartin will make obvious the quality places to eat out in Villamartin – as well as the establishments you probably want to avoid!

Most restaurants in Villamartin are located in the Villamartin Plaza. This is a square with a black and white chessboard pattern surrounded by shops, bars, cafes, banks and restaurants. In the heat of summer the plaza is alive with people and noise.

Although Villamartin is slightly inland it is not far from the coast and many great beaches are close by. Try visiting the nearby towns of La Zenia, Cabo Roig, Playa Flamenca and Campoamor.

As well as official comments from the actual Villamartin restaurants, we also have real restaurant reviews and comments from customers who have eaten out in the restaurants listed below.

Villamartin is a popular tourist resort and being on the Costa Blanca coast you will almost always have a fish or shellfish dish on the menu. Because Villamartin has such a diverse population with many expats living here there are restaurants catering to many different tastes and nationalities. Cooking standards are usually high and usually include fresh local produce and ingredients.

Obviously most restaurants in Villamartin will be Spanish restaurants many of which will also serve international food or cuisine. The Spanish restaurants will serve tapas, local recipes and dishes that are unique to the Valencian region such as Paella. Also expect many meals to be based around seafood dishes due to the Costa Blanca bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

Although most Villamartin restaurants are Spanish owned and run, due to the cosmopolitan population and diverse nationalities of tourists visiting Villamartin you will also find many Chinese restaurants, Italian restaurants, Indian restaurants and restaurants serving English or British food as well as some Thai restaurants, French restaurants, German restaurants and Japanese (Sushi) restaurants.

Look out for the Menu del Dia which most Villamartin restaurants offer, especially at lunchtimes. This is a great value menu which typically includes a starter, main course, dessert and often includes wine, soft drink or coffee.

We also invite you to submit your own comments and Villamartin restaurant reviews if you have dined out or eaten out in any of the restaurants.

We have lived in villa martin for 6 years now and have tried lots of Indian restaurants in the time that we have been here.

We had friends visiting recently who wanted to go to Villa Martin Square and wanted a good Indian curry We decided foolishly to try the new Saffron on the front of the Plaza that used to be Fusion What a mistake the staff were miserable could not reccomend anything we ordered 4 diffrent curries they all looked the same with a maximum of 4 little bits of chicken tasted like they were out of a tin they couldnt even get the right nam bread to our table we spent a total of over 130 euros Never again do not bother using this place a waste of time and money

  2. Carol says:

The best Indian Restaurant in Villamartin Plaza is the New Shalimar, it is only small but all the food is cooked fresh to order and the best we’ve eaten here or in the UK. If you want a Jalfrezi but not too hot, just ask. Staff are efficient and friendly and it’s good value too. It was recommended to us and we’ve recommended it to others.

We have an apartment near Villamartin and have tried quite a few restaurants in the area. Best best by far is Wolfies, which is about a 10 min walk out of the main square area. The staff are very friendly and they make a lot of food fresh on the premises, there is also a bar area with a few friendly locals. All in all a cracking night!

With regards the main square, we think ‘the square’ restaurant does the best food, the waiting staff and owner however are a bit ‘out to lunch’, so service can be a bit hit and miss, but this can be said of most restaurants in the square. If you pay peanuts…you get monkeys as they say! The worst restaurant we have ate at was ‘bogeys’ on the lower level of the square. It is supposed to be a fish restaurant, I don’t mean to sound harsh but our food looked and tasted like something the cat brought up. Hope this helps.

  4. Barbara says:

Just enjoyed a nice meal at The Square, Villa Martin, but 6 euros for a glass of wine! Didn’t get asked what wine we wanted or what size. We have a bar in Torre and charge 2 euros for a decent wine. Won’t be going back.

  5. Nicola says:

We visit the costa blanca on a regular basis and have an apartment within walking distance of plaza. we have tried most restaurants without much joy untill a neighbour recomended CHE restaurant, we found the service delightful, the menu is very varied their speciality bieng argentian meat, it really does melt in your mouth!! great value for money.

  6. David says:

You right Nicola, your recommendatory was Excellent.the CHE is good!!!
I am sorry to say that most other Restaurants in the squar are disappointing, they just don’t have what it takes.NO VALUE for money either.we are in CRISIS SITUATION at present, cant Restaurants owners be a bit more innovative??

  7. Gemma says:

We visited Villa Martin in September 2011 & liked the look of Eduardos for a birthday meal, we booked a table for 8.30 that night, we arrived and was very impressed with the decor & the restaurant staff, they all looked very glam…. like something out of The Only Way is Essex!! It all went down hill from there unfortunately. The waitress took our orders at 8.45, the starters arrived at 9.30….freezing cold & had to be sent back, we then waited another half an hour for the starters to come back out, to our amazement they were still cold!! A few of us had ordered the breaded Camembert, I expected this to be all lovely and gooey in the middle, instead we got a hard piece of Camembert cheese in-cased in burnt breadcrumbs. Dinner was no better, it arrived at 10.45….all 4 dishes were way below average, there was nothing “Great” about the “Great British Lancashire Hot Pot” it looked like something the family cat would bring up!! The fillet steak cost approx 40 Euros & was like a dry piece of rubber, for that price I expect a quality piece of meat to be served, the fish was cold and when we complained the excuse we received was “it’s because we steam our fish & when cooked like this it cools really quickly”. We left without having pudding, by this point we had just about enough.
Everything about this restaurant is glossy, the website, decor, staff, they even have the cheek to offer Cristal champagne on the menu…..it’s such a shame they forgot the most important thing…. the food!!….the only recommendation I would give about this restaurant is to STAY WELL CLEAR!
