“If you want a Spanish restaurant in Moraira with good reasonably priced food and a great atmosphere, look no further. The restaurant is always busy and where a few years ago it seemed full of workmen, now it seems full of local Spanish business people. Menu del dia is 14 Euros including half bottle of very nice wine. We spent new years eve at this restaurant, and it was great fun. hats , blowers, grapes, they had thought of everything. It’s tucked away in the little alley on the left going towards the sea in the cobbled main street of Moraira.” Gary S. February 2009

  1. April 2009
Haven’t been here for a few months after a disspointing visit last year.
We visited again in April 2009 and once again left feeling dissatisfied. Considering its run by the same people as The Gemmissant Restaurant on the Calpe road out of Moraira its not in the same league. The set menus for about 15 euros that are a major feature of the Gemmissant are sadly missing here. There was only a choice of two neither which was to our taste wo we ordered off the menu.
A very average meal with shared salad starter and service bordering on rude from a surly waitress cost almost 60 euros for two us. We left feeling we had been ripped off and we certainly wont be going back anytime soon.
    I’m sorry Refugio

  2. We have a Villa in Moraira,we visit Refugio Restaurant on a regular basis. We think food is fab and waitresses are very friendly and we would well recommend it. We use to go to Gemmisants all the time but we feel the food has gone down hill the last 3 visits we sent
meals back as they were not cooked. So we do not recommend this restaurant anymore
