Scallops Restaurant in the Arenal area of Javea – Favourite haunt of British tourists and many locals too who recognise the exceptionally good value. Breakfast of €1.25 which includes egg, sausage, bacon, beans and tomato is the lowest we have found in Javea. Spend €12 on breakfast and get a free bottle of wine! Telephone: 965 771 488.
“The old favourite Scallops are now offering a voucher (valid for two days only) for a free English breakfast with every meal. Scallops astounding value for money has now got even better – the breakfast is first class and is available until 1pm. It always amazes us how friendly the staff are here (is it me or are they all older this year?) Remember to tip them well, they are poorly paid.” Martin P. May 2008
“Scallops in Javea is great for families. We go there often simply because with two young children we know if it is fairly full, which of course it is most of the time, our kids noise will be drowned out and we won’t be embarrassed. If you want to eat out on a budget or you want traditional British food then Scallops will suit you. Also I’m always amazed how friendly and happy the staff appear to be.” Mark E. March ’08

i personally didnt think scallops was good at all the paella was vile as 2 members of our party who had it were violently sick, the cod was rubbery and the wine was gut rotting.I personally felt the service from waiters and management to be very poor and at times extremely rude.

In my opinion possibly the least prefered restaurant in Javea. Lived there for 6 months, tried it twice just to be sure we hadn’t been in on a bad day. It is more of a quantity than quality establishment. If you expect quality service and food, you will be disappointed. It is however very cheap.
Javea restaurantes are very very nice! but a little expensive. Love the amazing beach views from scallops. And it is very cheap! for a full dinner. Thank you for the post
I had the three course menu at €8.95. For that I had a Prawn Cocktail – (certainly much bigger and nicer than any I have had in Dublin) For main course I had two fillets of hake in batter. This came with chips peas and carrots, and finished with Ice cream with choc sauce AND a bottle of red wine.
My wife had the €10.95 menu. Mellon, 4 cheese pizza and baileys ice cream. Yes portions were big. Service was good and pleasant, and we had a full bottle of white wine to take home.
Arriving back late in Dublin last night I passed a take away chipper where chips were €2.50 and fresh fish was €6.40.
I would recommend and return to Scallops.
I would recommend scallops restaurant not only for the price but the quality of the food, been going there for 7 years and never had a bad one yet. scallops and monrows are the best eating houses in north costa blanca for good quality food.
yes forgot to mention the Brandy Coffee for 1Euro 50 where else would you get that ,and a good measure of brandy to,was in there twice today .
Yes you can get a real good meal here quite cheap, the fish is excellent. A very large eating area, inside is quite dark and a very large outdoor terrace, what you won’t get though is service with a smile. Its pile em in and sell it cheap.
Hi there, we visited the fabulous Scallops in May/June 2010,(came recommended) and; just brilliant!!!!. The food fantastic and the wine superb.~ the brekki just as good! The garden room (no kids~no smoking) is an absolute God send…..Wonderful.
I have to say though, I disagree a little with the people who say All the staff are friendly ~ I would say nearly all. At breakfast we were told soldier fashion (when enquiring as to what was included) No Orange Juice!! Ok. But all in all, wellllll we are returning to Javea again this year, and guess where we will head to first??!!
Brill.
