El elefante has not closed, but in the winter season Nadia only opened when she received bookings. We dined there on 21st April and had a good meal from the set menu at €15p/p including wine. The ambience in the restaurant is great and the place is worth a visit, just call and make a booking

We stayed with Nadia @ El Elefante whilst house-hunting in the area in Spring 2006. The food was excellent, and her son is an amazing talent in the kitchen. I am glad that she is still open as the place was up for sale I recall. This has to be the best cooking in Javea and contrary to some horrible comments on TripAdvisor (which should be removed as they are hearsay and libellous) Nadia is a very welcoming person.

I am delighted to hear that El Elefante is still open. i have been there many times over the last 20 years and have never had a bad experience. I could not fault the food, surroundings or the hostess. I too am amazed to read the comments on Trip Advisor. We always receive a very warm welcome.

I know El Elefante from the previous year, so I and my girl-friend decided to go there again this year. We dined at the El Elefante on Monday, June 21, 2010 and the food was really excellent. The service was also very outstanding. Nadia is a very hearty and polite host to her guests. After dinner, we had a nice chat with her.

Food and service were so excellent that we decided to go there again on Thursday the same week. We both chose a different meal and once again, we were very pleased with the food and service.

Hence we decided to go there again on Saturday the same week. We already knew about the good food and service, but that evening there were so many nice people at the El Elefante to chat with, that we had a very entertaining evening.

So, El Elefante is really worth a visit!

    Facts about El Elefante:

Nadia offers a menu with a choice of 5 starters, 5 main courses and 5 desserts for just 15 EUR + VAT.
You can also eat “a la carte”.

    El Elefante is open Monday to Saturday from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. (that’s 19 – 23 h for continental europeans :-)

You can eat there at lunchtime as well, provided you come in a group that’s large enough and provided you call for a reservation.

El Elefante is located in a large finca with a beautiful garden. You can dine both inside and outside. Inside is a general non-smoking policy, outside you can smoke as you like.

You will find El Elefante at “Pda. Capsades, 19. Cami Cabanes”. Follow “Cami Cabanes” and look out for the “El Elefante” advertising sign. When coming from Javea, you will find it after you have passed the various garnden centers on the left side.
When you come from Benitachell, it’s on the right side before you pass by the various garden centers.
