“My absolute favourite restaurant in Javea. Run by Pepe who does all the cooking and does speak good English. Very small restaurant with I think about 6 tables. Obviously you must book. No set menu. Specialises in steaks and wines. The BEST steaks, they come from the middle of Spain and are hung for at least a month first. No chips! My favourite choice is the solo mio for 18.50 euros (fillet steak), the mixed grill is also wonderful. Superb hams and cheeses especially the goats cheese. You get little tasters before you start. Almost all the food is grilled including the vegetables. This is somewhere completely different with real charisma. Not open at lunchtimes although every so often there are wine tastings (at lunchtime) which come with tapas for 20 euros – well worth trying. Score 10 out of 10.” Anna B. March ’08
