Altea is a popular tourist resort and being on the Costa Blanca coast you will almost always have a fish or shellfish dish on the menu. Because Altea has such a diverse population with many expats living here there are restaurants catering to many different tastes and nationalities. Cooking standards are usually high and usually include fresh local produce and ingredients.

Obviously most restaurants in Altea will be Spanish restaurants many of which will also serve international food or cuisine. The Spanish restaurants will serve tapas, local recipes and dishes that are unique to the Valencian region such as Paella. Also expect many meals to be based around seafood dishes due to the Costa Blanca bordering the Mediterranean Sea.

Although most Altea restaurants are Spanish owned and run, due to the cosmopolitan population and diverse nationalities of tourists visiting Altea you will also find many Chinese restaurants, Italian restaurants, Indian restaurants and restaurants serving English or British food as well as some Thai restaurants, French restaurants, German restaurants and Japanese (Sushi) restaurants.

Look out for the Menu del Dia which most Altea restaurants offer, especially at lunchtimes. This is a great value menu which typically includes a starter, main course, dessert and often includes wine, soft drink or coffee.

“We have recently opened, serving an international selection of seafood, meat and vegetarian dishes which we hope to be a new experience visually and to taste.

The menu is based on the chef/owner’s background of living internationally and cooking for some rock bands and the decor is a galleria displaying the artwork of an inspiring young artist.

You will find the restaurant below the church in Old Town Altea, from the plaza you walk down Calle Major and left through the arch.

Seating is upstairs and downstairs and on the terrace when local permits are available.”
