About Cabo Roig

Set to the south of Alicante and Torrevieja is the popular and relatively small beach resort of Cabo Roig.

Access is easy by taking either the N-332 or AP-7 from either Alicante airport in the north or Murcia San Javier airport which is only 10 minutes drive away.

Cabo Roig is the place to relax on the very good beaches of Playa Cala Capitan and Playa Cala Caleta.

There are lovely walks along the cliffs to the neighbouring resorts of La Zenia and Campoamor.

For other nearby towns see our Costa Blanca Restaurants home page.

There are not really many sights here but there is the historic Cabo Roig watchtower, some great golf courses and the marina.

The Aquapolis water park in nearby Torrevieja is great for the kids.

For other excursions there are the theme parks in Benidorm such as Terra Mitica and Mundomar and for historic cities there is Murcia, Cartagena, Elche (Rio Safari Park) and Alicante, all a relatively short distance away

Cabo Roig Restaurants

If you eat out at lunch you can normally get the menu of the day (Menu del Dia in Spanish) which is a set menu inclusive of bread, starter, main course, dessert and wine. This is much better value than a la carte.

Cabo Roig is a great place to eat out because there are so many different types of restaurants offering different types of cuisines. This is definitely not your typical Spanish town or village but a very international resort.

There are so many English people on holiday here that you could be forgiven for thinking that you are on holiday in Blackpool as you will find plenty of English bars, pubs and restaurants serving English breakfasts and fish and chips!

Most bars and restaurants are located along the Cabo Roig Strip. There is some great free entertainment in the many bars and pubs the best known of which is the Bushwacka Australian Bar & Pub.

We are not sure why but there are so many Irish bars here in Cabo Roig such as Flannigans, Old Bog Road and McCanns.

Other popular Cabo Roig bars include the Queen Victoria (or Queen Vic as most people call it) which does an excellent English breakfast and bingo, the Bar Med, Bar Liquid, La Bodegita bar and Listers.

Many people finish the night in Trinity which open until at least 4am!

For the best rated restaurants in Cabo Roig try the Argentinian steak house called Aberdin Angus (which is not a misspelling, but surely they meant to call it the Aberdeen Angus!).

Beef or Salmon is also good for steaks.

Although there are so many Chinese (The Wok), Indian (Balti Towers or the Green Chilli), Thai restaurants and English restaurants it would be a shame to come to Spain and not try the freshly caught fish and seafood as well as the traditional paella.

For traditional Spanish food try the La Bahia restaurant right on the beach of La Caleta in Cabo Roig. Try get a table on the outside terrace with wonderful views of the beach and the Mediterranean Sea.

As well you will also be able to eat out in Italian restaurants such as Puccinis and the Italian Affair.

For Mexican food try the Tex Mex which is next to Flannigans Bar.

For French food try the Eiffel Tower Bridge Brasserie.
